Two very important adverbs of place. Let's have a closer look at them:
here, there can be followed by be/come/go + noun subject:
- Here's Tom.
- There's Ann.
- Here comes the police.
- There goes our bus.
We place here or there as above in order to give more stress to the sentence. Also, the meaning is different. Compare:
a)
Johny is here - means that he is in this room/town etc.
Here's Johny - implies that he has just appeared.
b)
Johny comes here - means that it is his habit to come to this place.
Here comes Johny- implies that he is just arriving/has just arrived.
If the subject is a personal pronoun, it precedes the verb in the usual way:
- There they are.
- Here it comes.
- Here we come.
But someone and something follow the verb:
- There's someone who can help you.
