How to Add an Activity to VisualESL.com

Do you enjoy learning languages visually? Now, you can create your own visual tests here!

Why would you want to participate? Well, there are at least two good reasons why:

a) you can practice English, having fun.

b) you can share your knowledge with your students or friends.

How to begin

In order to use VisualESL to create your own ESL activities, first of all you must be logged in. If you haven't registered so far, you can do it here.

OK, logged in? Now, you can go to the submit form right here.

Filling out the form

The form starts with the title of your test. It is advisable to use 1-3 words.

As you scroll down, you can see two special fields used to upload your images. The first one is for the image that appears in listings next throughout this website. The other one can be used to upload multiple files which you can later use as questions or answers. More on that in a moment.

"Test information" contains some more info about your test, including intruduction which is displayed at the top of page.

 Creating a test

That's fairly easy. There are three fields: question field, options field and correct answer field. Below, I'll give you a couple of examples.

 Example 1. (gap-fill question)

Question 1: What is the capital of Germany?
Options to Question 1: Germany

Note: this type of question doesn't require the third field.

 Example 2. (multiple-choice question)

Question 1: What is the capital of Germany?
Options to Question 1: Germany;;London;;Moscow;;Beijing
Correct Answer to Question 1:1

Once you've got 5 questions or more, you should submit the form to test your work. You can then modify it, if you find any mistakes.

Adding images

Images can be added to both questions and answers. Before an image can appear in a test, it has to be uploaded in "Test images" field. To specify where the image should appear type in the name of the image, enclosed by the percent signs.
